Ladies Do You Wear High Heels?

I know I know ladies LOVE their high heels 👠 whether it be your stiletto or 1 inch heels. Women just like to look sexy and feel powerful and in charge with heels. I truly understand the reason for wearing them. But on the other hand as a Massage Therapist I know what it can do to your body. Are you even aware of what happens to your body physically by wearing heels ? 🤔 You definitely need a massage!

So your feet are designed to physically support your whole body. When you wear that heel ladies you are shortening your Achilles tendon. This is the largest tendon in your body . See now it’s prone to injury now since it’s limited to blood supply. Also the pressure you exert on it while you wear you high heel shoes. When your foot is in your high heels.. it is pointing downward. This is in a state of constant plantar flexion. This causes the muscles in your calves to become shortened and very stiff. Those sexy heels are helping you push your center of gravity in your body in a forward position. This now causes your spine and hips to go out of alignment. 😣 Anyone hear about massages? HELLO!

So if you are not going to give up your heels I can promise you that you will have pain. It can be ankles, legs and lower back. It can actually affect a lot of areas. So what can you do to fix this ? A MASSAGE! Limit the time you wear them ! Use flats to walk to work and go home. If your feet are hurting at work then massage them and wear flats! Ask yourself… 😉
Is it worth to put the stress on your muscles and joints trying to balance in those heels?🤔 NOW is the time for a massage and stretching!

Also probably the number #1 thing I can suggest to you is to STRETCH! Stretch those calf muscles out before and after wearing heels. I’ll give you an easy stretch you should use everyday to help your Achilles tendon and calves. It’s called a wall stretch.

1. Face the wall with your left foot forward and your right foot stepped back about a foot. Keep both feet flat on the ground.

2. Brace yourself with your palms against the wall.

3. Bend your left knee and straighten your right one.

4. Lean yourself into the wall toward and bend your left knee until you feel a stretch in your right Achilles . Hold for 30 seconds.

5. Now repeat on the other side. Do a few sets on each side till you feel the release. The tightness should be gone .

Of course ALWAYS get a massage to loosen up all those tight muscles! 💆‍♂️💆‍♀️

Does Your Massage Therapist Want Feedback?

Give as much feedback to your MASSAGE Therapist or give nothing at all. Some people will just be micromanagers and will tell the Massage person about every itch and twitch! Some are stoic sufferers who won’t speak up even if the Massage is too deep. They will just lay there and take it! Of course IF the licensed massage therapist asks you questions.. ANSWER! As Massage Therapists we want you to be comfortable with us during your massage. We don’t want you to FEEL uncomfortable. It is in your best interest to do what suits YOU! Otherwise if being quiet suits you well then be perfectly content to ENJOY your Massage! 😪😪😪

The bottom line here is it’s your dollars you are spending. YOU should be getting out of the Massage what you need. A good practitioner of massage will welcome feedback. It helps THEM to help you get the best massage possible. Of course there is the exception to the rule . There is some AMAZING massage therapists who ARE just really gifted! If you come across one of them keep them… as they are rare finds! 😄

IF you FEEL you aren’t getting the Massage you want, then feedback is important. More or less pressure in particular is worth conveying to your therapist. Also IF you want a particular area worked on say so! Say “Hey My lower back is hurting can you please work on that first?” Then when it’s loosened up then my neck AND shoulders if there’s time?” Easy simple just ASK ! 😉

If your a complainer COMPLAIN! We will do everything we possibly know to fix it. I seriously for one have been amazed of ALL the positive feedback I get from people who “complained” the whole time! The complaining is just part of their therapeutic process. The Massage wouldn’t of been as good to then if they never complained with what was bothering them ! I just listen and let it go as they always return! Lol! 🤣

Some people like small talk while others prefer deep emotional talks. Then some are quiet as a mouse. Most people vary within and between their massage sessions. A seriously good Massage Therapist WILL actually follow your lead. So really it’s up to YOU how you feel about feedback. 😁

If You Work Out Regularly You Need Massages!

Did you know that regular massages can help boost your hard workouts in the gym? 🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♀️ You will get results faster! When you get an AMAZING therapeutic massage it helps to loosen up your muscles. You know those intense workouts you be doing at the gym? Well a massage will help you recover quicker than if you didn’t have one. Think about it.. So your in the gym tightening and toning your muscles right?! Trying to get in better shape and lose weight. You will feel your muscles get very tight like they feel ready to snap. You know what I’m talking about! Your muscles are aching day after day because you are putting them through the ringer! Sound familiar? 🤔 It’s Massage Time! ❤

Regular massages can help along with stretching. It can get your muscles to release and relax again. It gets the proper blood flow going. It removes the wastes and toxins out . Recovery time is quicker. The soreness heals faster! Massage soothes those sore,aching muscles you have. 💆‍♂️💆‍♀️

Massage helps by making your muscles work better. Did you know by exercising regularly that you are putting a strain on your muscles, ligaments and tendons? Massage helps loosen up the fascia layers in your skin. You will notice with regular massages that you will be more flexible . As you are your muscles get stiffer and DEFINITELY worse if you don’t get regular massages. You heard people complain of all the aches and pains from working out . You probably do too! I hear it in the gym all the time! 🗣

Massages help you feel better mentally with all the “HAPPY ENDORPHINS ” being released through your Massage sessions. It’s a cortisol and stress reliever! You have to try to see how it works if you haven’t already! 😉

Is RELAXING Hard For You?

In today’s world Relaxing doesn’t come easy to most of us RIGHT?! I DON’T know if it comes easily to any of us! Period! I personally feel that ” RELAXING ” can be a greater challenge to most of people…. Like especially to those that practice tensing and don’t know how to let go of TENSION 😣 Have you tried a massage? 🤗

Sometimes when I’m working on a client I will ask them to relax a certain body part. It could be their neck or shoulder area where people carry alot of tension. Surprisingly most clients will say ” That’s why I’m here ! Isn’t that your job?” Yes to a degree it is ! I mean I’m here to help facilitate the release of the muscle. To help it learn how to relax. But the client has to understand that we have to work together for the massage relaxation to be successful.

Now as Massage Therapists we don’t expect a client to simply relax . Of course it takes TIME! Muscle has memory and when it stressed out it tightens and causes the Tension! And Yes boy will you feel it ! So you know muscles are now affected because of your tension Right? So what to do about it ? Simple GET A MASSAGE! 😊

Muscles will have a direct effect after a professional massage! That is IF you find the right one who knows what they are doing! I know people complain about all the crappy massages they have had from other people. So now because of these massage experiences they are leary of another massage! YES I totally get it! I have had my share of disappointed massages myself ! Just know that all licensed massage therapists aren’t created equal! I do apologize for the massage therapists who do the cookie cutter method. Yes it’s exhausting for me to hear about the massage therapists who disappoint you! 😐

Ok let’s get rid of your tension! Come lay on my massage table! I bet you don’t regret it! Say GOODBYE to your tension haha! 😁

Do You Have ” Vocal Tension ?”

Are you a singer, professional voice coach or professional singer? Have you heard of ” Vocal Tension?” If your a singer you practically will pick up tension … It’s impossible not to ! You create wonderful sounds and tones from your voice . In order to do so you must activate your larynx, jaw, tongue and your lips. For sure there’s much involved singing out a song using your body. If you have a high intensity and a professional level singing then chances are you will have ” Vocal Tension. ” So by getting regular massages it would benefit you greatly! 😁

Do you know how to tell if you have the ” “Vocal Tension?” I’ll tell you how so you will be able to recognize it when you get it. Do you have headaches? Jaw pain? Aching neck? Do You feel fatigued after singing for a while? Have you ever considered massages ? See you singers have lived with this tension so long you think ITS normal! I can assure you it’s not! Maybe your voice is airy? Or a breathy singing voice ? Really? Do you recognize that? Ok humor me. I want you to go to a mirror and sing a verse or chorus of something. Do it twice. Do you notice tension in the mirror on your face or neck at All? Now remember how that felt and looked. A massage will release That!

Ok you have a muscle called your SCM. It means “Sternocleidomastoid .” It’s on both sides of your neck area from your ear to the bottom of your neck. This area gets tight and tense the more you sing. Feel it with your fingers. Is it tight?Your larynx gets sore and tight to. So what can you do about It? Get a MASSAGE from a professional! They know how-to relax and release these tight muscles. After the massage you will notice a dramatic difference in your singing voice! Now look at your mirror again after the massage. Sing a few lines and What do you see and hear? Your “Vocal Tension “ should be gone! Your voice sounds better because there’s NO tension! DON’T believe me ? Find out for yourself. Oh My GOODNESS! Have you ever had a scalp massage? That’s the best feeling EVER! I just love them! They decrease your stress! You are in a better mood after! To top that off it also stimulates hair growth! 😁

There are numerous benefits of getting a scalp massage. Besides boosting your blood flow in your head it can also get rid of headaches and tension. Who doesn’t have that nowadays Right?! So when you get a good head scalp massage it is designed to relax your busy mind. It also encourages

It’s one of your good feel hormones. Unlike “cortisol ” that other hormone which depresses you and puts weight on 😠 It’s always good to get regular massages so you can defeat your cortisol chemical imbalance.
